Packing but not packing

29 Aug

My mom is going to hate this post (Sorry, Mom).

Since we are fortunate enough to have Jesse’s new company cover the cost of our move, we haven’t had to pack. Like, at all. At first the idea of having big burly dudes come in and pack up our tiny apartment with a handful of lightweight IKEA furniture sounded ridiculous. “Let’s rent a truck and do it ourselves. It will be fun!” I moved from apartment to apartment in college all by myself. This would be easy.

But why do it yourself when, in the span of four hours, you can go from comfortably living to neatly packed without lifting a finger? Forget the truck, I’ll take the movers. Thanks to Jesse’s dad for showing me the light. I still don’t believe it’s going to happen until I see it with my own eyes. Anyway, we still have to take the frames and shelves off the walls and patch some small holes. So on our last night in the apartment, it’s finally starting to look like we’re moving in two days.
