Exploring Atlanta – Stone Mountain Park
26 Sep
As a preface, this post is not as design-related as most are, but that’s OK. I hope it’s OK with all of you, too.
We’re going on our fourth week living in Atlanta. I don’t think we could’ve timed our move more perfectly. I’ve never lived in a place that experiences seasonal change, so getting settled here three weeks before the first day of Fall has been amazing. I’ve felt it go from hot and muggy to crisp and cool almost overnight. On every block there seems to be a tree or two whose leaves have started changing, though I suspect the majority of the autumn colors will sweep the area by mid-to-late October. I cannot. freaking. wait.
Because the weather has been so glorious, there was no way we were staying in doors this weekend. No way. Off to Stone Mountain we went. I had never been there and for Jesse it’s been years since his last visit. We had a great day.

We skipped the gondola ride and opted for the hike both ways. It was worth every step. I think next time we go we’ll get the year-long pass instead of paying for just the day. I want to go back with our bikes, with a picnic, when the leaves have REALLY changed color and with people who come up to visit us.
These guys enjoyed the view too…
